Marc Barnhill (vocals, acoustic guitar)
Born in Brooklyn, New York, and growing up "between the Boardwalk and the Verrazano Bridge," Marc counted such literate artists as James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Indigo Girls, David Wilcox, and Jules Shear as major influences. After the release of Blue Time, Marc became a regular on New York's acoustic live music scene and developed a reputation for smart lyrics and soulful performances, unveiling a steady stream of fragile ruminations on relationships and tough examinations of personal responsibility. He has participated in the New York Singer-Songwriter Sessions and On the Border songwriter series, been a featured artist at IndieShows and Alloy Radio, and lent musical support to various charitable and cultural events. He currently performs both solo and with The Sorely Missed.
Rachel Bingman (vocals)
Rachel hails from the small town of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She grew up singing in musicals and performing in community theater, and went on to study Theatre Arts at Stephens College. She moved to Brooklyn in 2001 and has been a director, waitress, barista, grad student, and teacher. She currently teaches 4th-grade special education and hopes to be a full-time drama teacher soon. She loves red dirt music, Jimmy LaFave, Lucinda Williams, Neil Young, and Stevie Nicks. She feels lucky to sing with Marc Barnhill and the Sorely Missed.
